Product Manager - Electronics Division

PRODUCT RESPONSIBILITIES

PRIMARY:

Responsible to manage all aspects of the Energy Home Theatre, IQ Mounts, NHL Branded, Rainbow Fish, Midlite, Verso, Locktek, line conditioners, head phones, Electrohome audio, video and telephone product lines.

SECONDARY:

Assist the General Manager, Electronics Division in managing the Stinger / Metra product line car accessories, kits, harnesses and sound solutions.

Communication - Suppliers

➢ Source key accessory products in a timely fashion to support current hardware requirements
➢ Ensure pricing, specifications and packaging are competitive
➢ Ensure the assortment of product is kept up-to-date, slow moving stock is identified and a plan is formulated to deal with it
➢ Respond to incoming communications the same day by return email or fax
➢ Follow up on order status and stock levels with the inventory control manager for electronics

Communication - Sales

➢ Create detailed new product notifications to forward to sales and post product information on the Gentec website
➢ Ensure that all key product selling features and relative competition details are outlined
➢ Notify in conjunction with Inventory Control Analyst any product delays or quality control issues
➢ Work with the Marketing Department to ensure that all packaging requirement are met in a timely fashion
➢ Review on a quarterly basis Electronics SKU's highlighting items that require sales attention. (Items we should discontinue or expand on)
➢ Present new products to the senior sales team, ensure all feedback and questions are addresses and executed.
➢ Work with sales dept to create quarterly promotions

Communication - Internal

➢ Establish an effective working structure with the Electronics Inventory Control Analyst, Sales Team, and the General Manager, Electronics Division
➢ Keep Operations informed by confirming new products, to ensure proper warehouse allocations
➢ Work with Marketing Department to develop specific advertising, marketing initiatives retail based p.o.p, communications and training materials including video.

Other

➢ Ensure that we are proactive in bringing new products to market that are competitively priced, well featured and with industry leading self-selling packaging
➢ Assist the General Manager, Electronics in all aspects of product details, competitive landscape and packaging in the areas of responsibility
➢ Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications and Expectations

• Individual thinker, team player, focused worker and genuine all-around energetic person
• College/ University graduate with related CE retail and /or wholesale experience
• Strong knowledge in Home Theatre products and automation.
• Mobile 12 volt industry experience would be a great asset
• Strong sense of urgency, multitasking skills
• Ability to follow schedules - communicate by providing daily updates.
• Limited travel across Canada / USA (tradeshows)
• Proven creative ability with an eye for detail
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Work with all internal departments as needed as well as external suppliers.
• Bilingual (English/ French) a strong asset but not required.

Reporting

➢ Direct report to the General Manger, Electronics Division
➢ Working with the Inventory Control Analyst and the department's Executive Assistant
