Dr. Buzz Aldrin will be the keynote speaker at CEDIA EXPO 2009, addressing members at the custom A/V trade association's Annual Meeting & Membership Breakfast on Friday, September 11 at 8 a.m.
The famed astronaut was deemed the second person to ever set foot on the moon almost 40 years ago on July 20, 1969. Dr. Aldrin served as the pilot of the Apollo 11 mission that made the first lunar landing.
Three years after making this great achievement, Dr. Aldrin retired from NASA. In 1998, he founded the ShareSpace Foundation, which seeks to "encourage space education and foster affordable space travel opportunities." His memoirs, entitled Magnificent Desolation, will be published in time for the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing.
"Dr. Buzz Aldrin's speech will add an element of inspiration to this event," said Jared Blackford, Chair of the CEDIA Expo. "His fascinating story will no doubt be a motivator for all of us."
The Annual Meeting & Membership Breakfast is open to CEDIA members only.
CEDIA Expo 2009, a trade event for members of the custom A/V industry, will take place Sept. 9-13 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
