XM Canada is taking its tie-in with social networking a step further by offering a live streaming satellite radio player app through Facebook. Members can sign up for a 14-day trial to the service, then listen to tunes or talk radio without leaving the Facebook screen.

As an extension to the recently-launched online+ platform, the Web-based player also extends to users of the iPhone and iPod Touch.

While listening through Facebook, subscribers can invite friends to join as well. In addition to the live streaming content, the page also displays information on subscription offers, new product launches, contests, events, and links to videos of live performances at XM studios.
