Appealing to the niche market of avid fishermen (or simply those who are interested in fishing), Rogers has picked up the World Fishing Network (WFN), which will be offered to its customers in full high-definition.
Starting September 2, 2010, Rogers Cable customers will be able to access WFN, a 24-hour fishing and outdoor lifestyle network, through their set-top box. A free, 30-day trial of the channel in HD will be offered throughout the month of October.
WFN in HD will be accessible on channel #542, and will be bundled as part of the Rogers Sports Theme Package or as an a la carte offering. WFN will continue to be offered in SD on channel 426.
"In response to great viewer demand, we are delighted to bring WFN HD to Rogers Cable subscribers," says Mark Rubinstein, President & CEO of WFN. "Produced and broadcast in 100 per cent native HD, WFN will be a visual treat for our viewers."
WFN, which covers tips, instruction, and tournaments relating to everything from travel, food boating, and outdoor lifestyle, has been available in HD stateside since 2008.
