Sanus' new Foundations Java Series JFV60 Lowboy can sit on the floor as a traditional cabinet, but it can also neatly be mounted on a wall beneath a flat panel TV to house necessary A/V equipment.
"The new JFV60 is first and foremost a high quality, durable home theatre unit," says Jason Schmidt, Product Manager for Sanus. "Our decision to make it wall mountable adds to its versatility as a traditional cabinet. Consumers will like its ability to transition from the floor to the wall, and they're not limited to where they can put it. It's really two pieces of furniture in one."
Constructed of CARB-compliant MDF and finished in rich expresso or chocolate brown, the JFV60 has three large shelves and two sliding glass doors with nylon glides that afford smooth movement, says Sanus. It boasts cable management channels and cutouts for routing wires into the wall; and a convection cooling system so that gear can operate at a proper temperature.
When situated on the ground, the cabinet can support a TV up to 63" in size, and A/V components weighing a total of 350 lbs. When mounted on the wall, it can support up to 250 lbs. worth of equipment.
Wall mounting is achieved via a heavy-gauge steel back plate, wood wall studs (16" or 24"), and a wall plate with built-in sliders. Once mounted, the cabinet can be shifted laterally for ideal positioning.
An optional backdrop accessory is also available for when the cabinet is placed on the floor, which Sanus says adds an element of depth to the cabinet. It can support select Sanus TV mounts.
