Power Audio Video, formerly referred to as Power Group, a newly formed Canadian retail buying group, has officially signed on two new members.
SonX Plus, a 14-member cooperative in Quebec, has confirmed a member relationship with the company, confirms Power Audio Video's President James Murphy. The cooperative has storefronts in Granby, Alma, Asbestos, Dolbeau, Joliette, Magog, Roberval, Rockland, Sherbrooke, St.-Felicien, St.-Hyacinthe, St.-Jean Richelieu, Ste.-Therese and Victoriaville, QC.
The partnership with Power Group includes store banner options under both the SonX Plus or the Alliance banners, "providing these members a unified media marketing strategy for the Quebec consumer," Murphy explains.
"SonX Plus CEO Claude Viau has been a pleasure to work with," states Michel Paul, Vice President of Product Planning at Power Audio Video. "We have worked together long and hard to develop a unique and comprehensive solution for Quebec-based retailers that will be second to none. Independent retailers have a long and rich history of success in Quebec, and our partnership lays the foundation to continue that tradition."
The second new signee is Markham, ON's New Line Incentives, which supplies products and services to key national accounts, like Aeroplan, The Royal Bank of Canada, and Costco.ca.
"Our relationship with New Line Incentives and President Rob Martella is exciting for not only both Power Audio Video and New Line, but for the entire Power Audio Video membership," enthuses Robert Gumiela, Vice President of Marketing at Power Audio Video. "This relationship will enhance our ability to go beyond the traditional retail channel and develop mutually prosperous business opportunities across Canada."
"There is no doubt that 2011 has been a tough year for retail," adds Murphy. "Our members, our vendors and our organization believe though that our mutual business and marketing strategies are the right formula at the right time to ensure revenue and profit growth. It is the right time to work together to make an important difference."
The Power Audio Video Buying Group acts as a representative management and marketing firm working on the behalf of member and affiliated consumer electronics, home appliances, and IT businesses and retailers.
Both Murphy and Gumiela were formerly with Samsung Canada; and Paul was with Groupe Dumoulin prior to joining forces to form Power Audio Video. The company can be reached at www.gpgav.ca or individuals via e-mail at first name plus last initial at power-group.ca.
