3D was hailed the next big trend in video technology at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and several companies have come out with products that can facilitate three-dimensional viewing. Optoma is the latest to do so via a line of 3D-enabled projectors that are set to be available in Q2.
The new projectors, will use Texas Instruments' DLP technology to allow for viewing 3D imagery from a single device.
"The simplicity, economy and quality of the Texas Instruments' solution for 3D has already been proven in the commercial digital cinema markets," says Jon Grodem, Director of Product and Marketing for Optoma. "We are taking this and applying it to every day, real world applications."
"We see an increasing need and usage for 3D video, especially in education and training applications," he adds. "Through our partnership with Texas Instruments and the adoption of these new technologies, we are future-proofing our products for the coming generations of instructional, interactive and entertainment content."
Optoma's 3D-enabled projectors were showcased at InfoComm, which wrapped up last week.
