Marketnews is sad to report the passing of Cam MacDonald, who served as National Sales Manager for this magazine and other related ventures during the 1980s. Cam passed away on December 10, after a long battle with cancer. After Marketnews was sold by its original publisher in the mid-1980s, Cam embarked on a successful career in commercial real estate.
Cam's funeral will be held on December 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Humber Valley United Church, 76 Anglesey Blvd. in Toronto. Visitation is at the Yorke Chapel of Turner & Porter, 2357 Bloor St. W., on December 16 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on December 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Marketnews extends heartfelt condolences to all Cam's family and friends. He was a great guy.

During the 80's Cam was involved with the Traveling Canadian CES...Halifax, Vancouver Montreal Toronto....I remember on many occasions sharing a few cocktails with Cam at these shows discussing the industry of the day as well as the gossip. In those days everyone seemed to have closer relationships with each other, from dealers and reps to manufacturers. The industry was a little more intimate. Cam knew everyone and helped forge these relationships with his introductions along with his great insight about the consumer electronics business in Canada. I hadn’t seen Cam in some years but I will always remember his glowing personality along with that sense of humour. He was just fun to be around and I am happy I had the good fortune to know him. I send my condolences and prayers to his family at this sad time.
