Interac Association has confirmed that all 3,000 Tim Hortons locations in Canada will offer the Interac Flash payment option to its patrons by the end of the year. Twenty-three hundred of those eateries will be equipped with the Flash-enabled terminals by the end of October.
"Speed of service is important to Tim Hortons and to our guests and every second at the counter and in the drive-thru counts," says David Clanachan, Chief Operating Officer, Tim Hortons. "Bringing new payment options such as Interac Flash to our restaurants is just one way for us to continue to innovate, provide value and convenience to our guests."
With an Interac Flash card, customers can pay for items by scanning the card over a contactless payment-enabled terminal - a PIN number doesn't need to be entered.
Chase Paymentech, a subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase will process the customer payments.
