Cantrex is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Kelly as Network and Retail Program Director - Furniture for the Furniture, Bedding and Appliances division. He joined the Cantrex team on January 25, and will be based out of the Vaughan office in Ontario.
Kelly's role at Cantrex will be to develop strong relationships with the furniture supplier base. He will be taking the existing retail and network programs to the next level in addition to introducing new ones to improve the competitiveness and profitability of retailer-members. Kelly's mandate will also be to update our furniture networks to accelerate their Canadian growth.
The decision to fill the position of Network and Retail Program Director - Furniture is a concrete example of Cantrex's commitment to consolidating its role as a leader of the Canadian furniture industry. "We're confident that Patrick's extensive work experience will be an asset to the team and will contribute actively to our growth objectives," says Jean Favreau, Vice-President - Furniture, Appliances and Bedding at Cantrex.
Until recently, Kelly was director of sales and marketing at Donald Choi, an importer and distributor of major furniture lines in Canada. His responsibilities included managing the Canadian sales force, inventory and costing, as well as developing concepts and designing a broad range of products.
Previously, Kelly had a very successful career of more than 30 years with Sears Canada, during which time he became proficient in retail operations, merchandising and procurement. He has held a number of positions nationally, including buyer in Furniture and Bedding categories, where he orchestrated the runaway success of the store brand Sears-O-Pedic. He also served as president of the BSCC (Better Sleep Council of Canada) in 2003.
