Gentec International has partnered with Vitec Group's Imaging Division to become its exclusive Canadian distributor as of January 1, 2013.

Through the partnership, Gentec will distribute the Manfrotto, Kata and National Geographic photographic carrying solution lines. Additionally, it'll handle Manfrotto, Gitzo and Avenger-branded photo, video and lighting support products, and accessories.

"Gentec's business philosophy, product mix, distribution and logistics centre, and channel diversification provide all of the critical elements required to execute our strategic plan," says Bill Drysdale, Managing Director of Manfrotto Distribution USA and Regional Director, Americas, Vitec Group Imaging Division. "This partnership ensures that all of our products remain easily accessible for our Canadian consumers, which is always a top priority for the brand."

Amplis Foto Inc., the current distributor of the aforementioned products, will continue working them in Canada for the remainder of the year. As you may recall, Amplis also lost the distribution rights of Tamrac products to Gentec in July 2011.
