Seventeen revised speakers comprise what Klipsch in the U.S. refers to as its Reference II Series, now in its fifth generation. In Canada, the revised line (distributed by Gentec International) will be known as Klipsch Reference V Series.
The firm says revisions include re-engineered drivers and crossover systems; along with several cosmetic upgrades, including new black metallic finished baffles, machined "Cerametallic" woofers, logos and feet.
Klipsch's Tractrix Horn technology continues to be a main feature.
The 17 new models consist of five floor-standing towers (RF-7 II, RF-82 II, RF-62 II and RF-52 II and RF-42 II), four bookshelf models (RB-81 II, RB-61 II, RB-51 II and RB-41 II), four centre channels (RC-64 II, RC-62 II, RC-52 II and RC-42 II) and four surround speakers (RS-62 II, RS-52 II, RS-42 II and RS-41 II), which include Klipsch's exclusive "Wide Dispersion Surround Technology" (WDST).
Each Reference V Series loudspeaker has a lightweight, rigid Cerametallic cone woofer. The Tractrix horn tweeters are revised with Linear Travel Suspension and titanium compression drivers.
The cabinets are available in black ash or cherry furniture-grade wood and vinyl veneers.
With this new diverse lineup, the Klipsch Reference V Series now covers suggested retail prices ranging from C$349.99 for pair of bookshelf speakers, up to $2,999.99 for the top-of-the-line floor-standing tower.
