Future Shop stores across Canada will open early on September 14, many right at midnight, to allow anxious gamers to get a copy of Halo Reach, the prequel to the popular Halo Trilogy game series for the Xbox 360.
All Future Shop stores will open at 12:01 a.m., with the exception of those in Sudbury, ON and Quebec, which will open promptly that morning at 8 a.m. In addition to the standard game, buyers will also be able to snag the Legendary Edition, as well as the Limited Edition collector's edition.
At the East York Future Shop store (845 Eglinton Ave. E. at Laird) in Toronto, Canadian professional gamer, Kevin Garcia, who built his name primarily playing the Halo series games, will be on hand to square off against other gamers playing Halo Reach. One lucky winner who can beat Garcia at his own game will win an Xbox 360 250 GB Halo Reach console bundle valued at $399.99.
Additionally, Xbox 360 street teams will be in Toronto and Vancouver. Two squads of Xbox street teams will be present at both the East York and Lansdowne (Vancouver) Future Shop stores on September 13 at 9:00 p.m. local times. Those present to wait in line will be able to play Halo Reach from the Xbox 360 gaming stations. Halo Reach swag will also be handed out at all 146 Future Shop store locations.
Halo Reach will cost $59.99; and the Limited Edition will be $20 more.The Legendary Edition runs for $149.99.
