Sources familiar to the matter have told the Wall Street Journal that Facebook Inc. could file its initial public offering (IPO) paperwork as early as Wednesday, and the company could end up being valued between US$75 billion-US$100 billion.
These individuals are also saying that at such a high valuation, Facebook would be looking to raise about US$10 billion. Furthermore, it's being noted that the social networking company is on the verge of selecting Morgan Stanley as its lead underwriter for the IPO.
If Facebook reaches the $10 billion offering mark, the company would be worth as much as McDonald's Corp.
Mark Zuckerberg co-founded Facebook in 2004, and the site now has more than 800 million users.
