CEDIA is adding an interactive component to its 2010 Electronic Lifestyle Awards via new Audience Choice awards that will allow those on the Web to vote for their favourite home technology projects completed by CEDIA members.
Visitors to www.hgtvpro.com will be able to sift through photos and details of installations, than vote on their favourite. Categories highlighted on that Website, which is tailored toward the design and build professional and home enthusiasts community, will include Large Home Theatre, Integrated Home, and Media Room. One winner will be selected in each category, and honoured at the Electronic Lifestyles Awards Banquet that takes place during CEDIA EXPO on Saturday, September 25.
Additionally, electronic systems contractors who are present at CEDIA EXPO will also be able to vote for their favourite products via the new Attendees' Choice awards. One winner will be recognized at the Banquet, along with winners in the Best New Product, Horizon Award, and Sustainable Lifestyle Product Innovation categories.
"These two new competitions allow electronic systems contractors and design and build professionals to vote on the entries that most resonate with them," explains CEDIA CEO Utz Baldwin. "The Audience Choice Awards and Attendees' Choice Awards highlight the innovative and technologically advanced work being done by CEDIA members."
The Designer Awards and Manufacturers' Excellence Awards competitions will continue to be evaluated by a panel of expert judges using strict criteria.
Voting for the CEDIA/HGTVPro.com Audience Choice Awards competition is open until September 10 at www.hgtvpro.com/cedia. Voting for the Attendees' Choice Awards will be held during CEDIA EXPO Sept. 23-25. The list of Attendees' Choice Awards entries is available at www.cedia.org/attendeeschoice2010.
CEDIA EXPO 2010 will be held Sept. 22-26 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.
