It's the most highly-anticipated video game launch of 2010 (thus far, at least), and Best Buy plans to open at midnight on Tuesday, March 16 so that anxious gamers can get their hands on God of War III early.

Select stores will hold launch events outside as shoppers line-up outside to be one of the first people to purchase the final installment in the God of War trilogy for the Sony PlayStation 3 gaming console. The first 100 people in line will receive a God of War T-shirt.

Participating store locations include: 2220 Cambie St., Vancouver BC; 1135 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, BC; 9931-19 Avenue N.W., Edmonton, AB; Deerfoot Meadows, Unit 300-8180 11 St. S.E., Calgary, AB; A-810 St. James St., Winnipeg, MB; Bay and Dundas (Yonge & Dundas Square), 65 Dundas St. W., Toronto, ON; and Heartland Town Centre, 1-6075 Mavis Rd., Mississauga, ON.

Following from the launch event, buyers will receive triple the Reward Zone points when purchasing the game from March 16-18. Two select games can also be traded in in exchange for God of War III.
