The Super Bowl is only a week away, and as disappointed as I am about my Green Bay Packers not making the show, I will still hunker down in front of the TV for it. However, if the game stinks, I'll just have to entertain my guests with the NFL Photo Booth app instead.
What this app does, is it gives the ultimate fanatic of any team the ability to either use an archived photo or a freshly taken one, and turn it into an NFL themed shot. For instance, I was able to pull up a nice photo of my girlfriend from our recent Ohio excursion, and give her a Packers helmet, an Aaron Rodgers jersey, and the under-eye black zinc that the players wear.
For good measure, I also made it look as if a Packers football was about to bean her in the head. Nothing says romance like Packer green and gold, and having a ball thrown at one's face.
Anyways, the app itself offers themed-prop images from every team in the league, which can be integrated into any photo. Items include helmets, jerseys, footballs, team patches, baseball caps, foam fingers, and more. Images of players can also be purchased within the app for either $0.99/each, or $4.99 for the NFL MVP Pack, which includes over 150 player images, and even more gear and apparel.

I like this idea, because it would be worth $4.99 to buy an image of players you despise, take a photo of yourself punching the thin air, and then make it look as if you're giving one of the guys a shot. This may sound mean-spirited, but come on, don't we all have a list of players that we can never forgive for breaking our favourite teams' heart?
Now, I've already described the photo in which I created, but let me quickly break down how it was done. Once, I had the image in place, I was able to easily select the items that I wanted to cover m'lady with. I was continually able to adjust the size of each of item, and move it wherever I chose. What's more, if I wanted to layer the images a certain way so that the eye zinc went beneath the helmet's cage, I could do that as well. The props and photos can also be rotated to whichever angle is most appropriate.

Naturally because it's a photo-based app, I was also able to alter contrast, brightness, and other such things to ensure that the pic looked as awesome as I wanted it to.
Once all of that is completed, the photo can then be shared on Facebook, and/or in an online gallery within the app. This gallery displays the photos of other users, and will show yours once it is approved.

For me, the NFL Photo Booth is the perfect, free (initially), iOS app for the football fan, for an entire season. However, I do believe that even casual fans attending Super Bowl parties will get a kick out of it too, and it may allow them to finally fully embrace, or tackle, a sport they would've otherwise loved for just the year end party and halftime show.
Oh, and that reminds me...Madonna is playing this year's Super Bowl halftime show. Are you effing kidding me?!
