The much-talked about PlayStation 3 motion controller has finally gotten a name: it will be called the Move. And along with the device will come a sub-controller than can provide "intuitive navigation" of in-game characters and objects.
The Move, which can sense precise, and natural hand movements, will be available this Fall, and developers are already working on game titles that will support the accessory. Completing the package is Sony's PlayStation Eye camera, which will work in tandem with the Move and sub-controller to provide greater control of on-screen characters, via proper angle and position detection. The curved sub includes an analog stick and directional buttons.
Equipped with a three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer, and a terrestrial magnetic field sensor, the Move also has a colour-changing sphere that can be tracked by the Eye camera. Much like with the Nintendo Wii MotionPlus controller accessory, a player's hand movements can be detected in full 30-degree motion, such that he can more accurately perform tasks like swinging a tennis racket or dodging bullets.
The controller incorporates action buttons and an analog trigger, along with rumble and visual feedback via multi-coloured lights. For even more enhanced games, the Eye camera can capture a player's voice or image.
Both the Move and the sub-controller come with a built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery and Bluetooth.
According to Sony, 36 third-party developers and publishers are already working on games that fully utilize the Move system, including Activision, CAPCOM, Electronic Arts, and Disney Interactive. Sony itself will also debut more than 20 titles this year that support Move.
Pricing is still TBA.

Price is 100$ for now. Bundle with PS eye camera + 1 game and the first 2 remote (1 move and 1 sub controller). That seem an expensive upgrade considering the intiale price of the console + the extra versus a WII. I know it's not the same but who is the real target audience for that kind of gadget? Casual gamer not willing to pay to much to play games... We will see, but add on device never succeed much. The remote must come with the console to be a winner.
