In an effort to future-proof their purchases (and encourage customers not to hold off on new purchases) Microsoft is offering a free upgrade to Office 2010 with the purchase of Office 2007.
Called the Technology Guarantee, the offer will afford any consumer who buys a copy of Office 2007, or a new computer that comes loaded with Office 2007, with a code that can be used to download Office 2010 once it officially becomes available this June. The version of Office 2007 must be activated between March 5 and September 30, 2010; and the customer must either have, or create, his own Windows Live ID.
The free download can be redeemed at http://office2010.microsoft.com/search/redir/FX101810297.aspx?lc=en-ca any time before October 31, 2010.
Office 2010 is currently available in beta format at www.office.com/beta.

In Windows 7, when you hover over an application in the taskbar, it gives you a thumbnail preview of the window. It also brings up the title, icon, and close button. I have a small screen, so I would like to strip the excess information from the frame so that all I see is the preview when I hover over an application. No close button. No title. No extra icon.
