A new Future Shop store in Cowichan, BC will become the retailer's 146th location.
The store is more than 20,000 square feet in size, and includes all of the typical Future Shop departments, including a section for appliances, Cellshop, ConnectPro installation, gaming stations, and a home theatre lifestyle vignette.
Future Shop will celebrate the opening next Friday (September 10) with the regular hoopla, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony promptly at 9:45 a.m., donation to the Cowichan United Way, door crasher deals, and giveaways, including $500 gift cards and a $3,000 3DTV package.
Every morning for the entire weekend, the first 100 customers in line will receive a Future Shop gift card valued at $5, $25, or $50 each. One lucky customer will get the $500 shopping spree. A PlayStation 3 ModNation Racers gaming tournament will award a PS3 bundle that includes a 40" Sony Bravia TV and home theatre system. An outdoor remote control racing track will be there, where customers can participate to win prizes. The $3,000 3DTV package, which store visitors can enter via random draw, includes a 55" Samsung 3D TV, two pairs of glasses, a movie, and a Blu-ray player.
Present at the launch will be: Steve Leduc, General Manager, Future Shop; John Minelli, District Manager, Future Shop; Tom Walker, Mayor, District of North Cowichan; and Tom Duncan, Councillor, City of Duncan and board member of the Cowichan United Way. They will be joined by, of course, the store's new employees.
The store will be open every day that weekend starting at 10 a.m.
