D-Box Technologies Inc. will now equip the UK's Cineworld Cinemas with its D-Box MFX seats, in the coming months. This is the first commercial theatre circuit to launch D-Box MFX seats in the UK.
The first installation will be of 35 seats at the Cineworld Glasgow location, in March. Eventually, seats will also be added to the Milton Keynes, Crawley, O2 Greenwich (London), Castleford West Yorkshire, and Didsbury (Manchester) theatres.
"This deal marks a major milestone for us as we continue to experience strong, steady growth overseas with Cineworld Cinemas," states President and CEO of D-BOX Technologies, Claude McMaster. "Ultimately, this agreement reinforces the appeal of our business model and speaks to the growing demand for motion technology in the cinema industry around the world."
D-BOX MFX seats are designed to shimmy and shake along with the action that is happening on-screen. Movies that have been coded to work with the MFX seats include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Jackass 3D.
