Amongst the 3D demos, flat-panel TVs, and audio gear on the show floor are gadget goodies of all kinds. Despite not exhibiting at the show, Apple was well covered with a plethora of accessories for the iPod and iPhone.
Some of the most popular categories include cases that double as chargers with the proprietary PIN connector on the bottom, speaker docks, solar chargers, and transparent skins that offer full body coverage of the device. Of course similar devices were on hand that can be used with other smartphones. And while the iLounge in the North Hall is chocked full of gadgets solely made for the iPod/iPhone, plenty more products were spread throughout all three halls the show. Here are some of the neatest iPod products from CES:
Edifier Luna5 wireless speaker: While it's not officially available yet, this large, circular-shaped speaker is wireless, operating on the 2.4 GHz band so that it can be situated up to 25-feet away from the companion dock. What makes this speaker really neat, however, is the way it's controlled: there are no visual buttons. Just swipe your finger along the base of the unit from left to right to turn volume up, and right to left to turn it down. Tap it in the right spot to power on/off; and swipe the base of the dock to scroll through songs. It works with all iPods and the iPhone, but has an auxiliary port for connecting to other players as well. It also has an SD card slot for playing tunes saved to the memory cards. A wired model is already available. Pricing TBA
