Rovio Entertainment has officially flung its Angry Birds game onto Facebook. The new game will feature all of the elements in which fans have come accustomed to, plus a collection of added features.
One of the game's most important new aspects is how it will allow individuals to openly compete with their friends on the social network. Gamers will be able to share and brag about their scores, earn gold, silver, and bronze crowns for the top three scores in any level. What's more, people can give their Facebook friends power-ups in the form of a mystery gift.
Aside from being given as a gift, these power-ups can also be obtained by simply playing the game, or purchasing them. Available power-ups include the Sling Scope, King Sling, Super Seeds, and Birdquake.
Between now and February 16, Rovio will be giving away 14 free power-ups to anyone who plays Angry Birds on Facebook.
"This launch is just the beginning for Angry Birds on Facebook," says Petri Järvilehto, SVP of Game Publishing at Rovio. "We have great new features and gameplay lined up for the fans in the upcoming weeks. Angry Birds on Facebook will offer a unique experience for our fans, and we're really excited to finally be on the platform."
Angry Birds is arguably one of the most popular mobile device games. Back in October, it was revealed that the game has 130 million monthly users.
